Question Making an African assassin?

Is there any way to make an African looking assassin? Or for that matter, is there any way I can get black hair?

I thought the character makeover pack was supposed to give you customization options from all campaigns...

What it does is allow you to choose any appearance options for your profession regardless of what continent they come from. You can't make an Assassin in Proph or NF so the only appearance options they have are the Factions ones.

So if there were no dark skinned Assassin models (I'm assuming this is what you mean; all sins have black hair iirc) when you made the character, you wouldn't be able to make one with the makeover pack.

Assassins don't have black hair. o_o

And I probably should of clarified what I meant by African. I meant something with facial features/hairstyles similar to that of those found in Nightfall's character creation options.

Hmmm, for some reason I couldn't recall ever seeing an Assassin without black hair (that dark colour anyway). In any case, you're stuck with what you get in the character creation screen. A makeover pack won't offer anything new for non-core professions. You could try changing it with TexMod if you cared enough though.

If you are thinking of changing you sin through makeup pack i suggest you forget it. sina nd rit only have so many options because they are only from fractions, same with para and derv.

Sad but true, Sins, Rits, Dervs and Paras don't gain any benefits from Makeover Packs.
I wish they would have added extra generic faces from the other campaigns so not only the core professions benefit from it.

Maybe I'll make a post in Sardeliac together with a related subject for their ingame shop. Not that many suggestions there actually make it into the game, but it has happened ^^

Glad I never bought a makeover pack, I assumed the full makeover at least would give you every face and hairstyle from the complete game set.

I believe the makeover pack will be on offer soon but its still not worth it unless you gain full makeover options.
Would buy one if I could make a male necro look fairly human.

Seems we will have to await GW2 for better options.

Random note: You can get black hair by purchasing the Formal Outfit and dying the head dress (hair) black. On females only, of course.

It DOES give you every face and hairstyle from the complete game. You can make a Nightfall necro with a Prophecies skin tone and a Factions haircut (pretty sure that's why my dear Irina is, at the moment...).

Problem is that assassins get a lower total number of faces. Other professions can be created in all three campaigns and get three times the faces compared to single-campaign professions (A, Rt, P, D)

Quoting myself, made the topic here and it started out with a lot of positive voices

If you want african hair etc, it might be a good idea to comment/sign on that thread as it involves that and more.

It's good to point out that you can go to the Makeover [stylist] NPC in the Temple of Balthazar and view the options available, without having any makeover credits. Sort of a try-before-you-buy type thing.

What you see at character creation is what you get. Assassin's are restricted to the Factions campaign, those are all the character creation options you get. Assassin's are from the Cantha origin, not Elona.

I can't believe the intelligence of some people, albeit amusing.

Is there any way to make a European looking assassin? Or for that matter, is there any way I can get blonde hair?

I intended to say that any makeover pack should include the ability to take every face, colour and hairstyle and make them available on any character.

So if there was a face only available to a male paragon and a hairstyle only on a male ritualist you could put it on an assassin and colour the skin hair and eye colour any available shade.

Otherwise as makeover packs go it is firstly vastly overpriced and secondly a very poor addition to the game.

So you would like the ability to look like a ritualist whilst effectively using assassin skills?

Tonics.

I wasn't aware that simply wanting to be able to change your hairstyle and/or facial features would magically make you look just like another profession. It's not like you'd suddenly be able to wear the other profession's armor or anything like that...

Some of the core professions share hairstyles already as it is - my Mesmer has a Nightfall hairstyle that's also the same as a Necromancer hairstyle. I believe some warrior hairstyles (for female characters anyway) overlap with other professions as well. So why not fully open it up and allow non-core professions a bit more variety?

At the very least, allow the haircolors and skintones from the other campaigns for the non-core professions.

Figured out how to change hair color with TexMod. Now I need to figure out facial features/skin color.

Face and hair does not a Ritualist make, the character would still be wearing Assassin Armour.
Just because my face was from a ritualist I would look nothing like one and I never said I wanted too those are your words.

Anyway lets face it the only reason the game fixes a look for each character class is for pvp in pve it wouldn't matter if a Monk Wore Dervish armour and carried a Sword and Shield
